Our History

Framin’ Place has been at 118 Four Seasons Center since 1983.  The store was originally one of many franchise shops using the name “Framin’ Place,” each independently owned and operated.  At one point the shop in Chesterfield was operated as a ‘do-it-yourself’ store,’ where customers came in, picked their mats and frames, and assembled them on-site (under the watchful eye of employees).

Eventually, the shop was “sold” to its owner-operator.  Framin’ Place in Chesterfield has been an independent business ever since, focusing on its unique custom framing experience and intimate gallery space.

The days of franchising and “do-it-yourself” operating have come and gone.  Today Framin’ Place & Gallery on Olive Blvd in Chesterfield is one of the oldest continually operating custom frame shops in West County St. Louis, MO.  The current owner, Robert Mueller, has operated the business since October of 2006.
